How do we do this?

in2improv works on creating environments where people who don't usually have the chance to come together, can gather to co-create something new. We do this by working with diverse groups, aiming to bring together people from different ages, racial background, gender, sexual preference, socio-economic status, ability, etc. Our main tool to build with them is collaborative improvisation, as it places its focus on creating groupness - what the group itself can create and not what each individual can add to a disjointed whole.

The main influences on in2improv’s work are:
  • Social Therapeutics
  • Ensemble Thinking
  • Deep Listening
  • Buddhism and Meditation
Please note that starting in 2018 this site will no longer be regularly updated, but will continue to exist in an archival capacity. For current activities, please visit the Institute for Improvisation and Social Action at www.improvisa.org
